I traded in the CRD, CEL was on. the dealer had it for 3 days and had me come to get it 3 times and each time the CEL came back on within 2 miles. They had no idea what was wrong or how to fix it. Plus, the rear end started clunking and I was never able to get more than 19mpg, even on the highway at 62. I just got a bad one. I liked the CRD a lot. it was just a maintinence nightmare and I don't have the cash for a GDE tune or a new torque converter or any of the other remedies to fix it. Anyway, I had ordered a set of Courtesy lights 2 weeks ago, I had forgot about them until i got an email today that they had finally shipped. I'll be posting them in the for sale section when they arrive. thanks for all the information and help you guys gave in my short time here. I do appreciate it! |

Sorry to hear of your troubles... I've owned what can only be described as a cursed vehicle too, coincidentally another Jeep - 96 Grand Cherokee that was an absolute money pit. I don't think anyone could fault your decision, best of luck on future rides! |

That has to be some kind of record. Joined in Feb. Traded in Feb. It is not a vehicle for everyone. You did the right thing. |

well maybe he did the right thing for him, I love my CRD I am glad I have it. so far I have had no real issues with it. it pulls on like a champ. I did however meet a guy that was working construction at one of the buildings I work at. He spotted my Jeep and said it looked very fimular to him and asked me about it. turns out it was his Dad's. They had some problems with it and traded it too. I don't undersatand what drove them to that because I looked at the dealers service history it was only ever in for recalls oil changes, inspections and to have the nav radio replaced 3x while they had it. After it was traded the Cluster unit was replaced. |

VM has been making these type of engines for a few decades overseas. I have had no issues with mine. I had the F37 done real early, even before a single driveability issue showed up. CAC hose sweating, ball joint, heater blower motor, some other reflash. that's it. Nothing mechanical. I think ULSD came out just in time to same many 2006's EGR. Anyway, these were designed as a boat motor among other applications and I think they're pretty much bulletproof. |

Thanks for everything guys. I've only owned it since October, i was over on Jeepkj.com before I found out about LOST. I wish I had the money, because I would have loved to be able to keep the Liberty. It is a really nice little rig, it was great offroad too. I just don't have the money to deal with issues since I'm in school and live on a fairly tight budget. It seems like the people that are really happy with their CRD are the ones that have put some money into it. Thanks again everyone! |

I hope you find a nice vehicle you can deal with this time around. Yes I have put a little cash into mine. not that much yet. I have the Provent and an SEGR kit to build. I got new tires and want a moderate lift. other than that I have only done other little things like getting the front windows tinted a bit, putting in Husky liners, and changing the stock tire cover to Eugine the Jeep. after the lift and SEGR is in The only thing I can think I want is an ARB bumper and thats really to expensive. |
