Hey, yea this is a for sale kinda thread, but it really is only a benefit for the CRD folks, which is why it isn't in the sale section.

So I finally got off my arse and took apart the dead motor I have had under a cover for the last 8 months. This is a list of the parts that are available, if you don't see something, ask me and I might have it... I can't remember (or possibly identify) all the parts as some were already off the engine. I'm happy to consider any offers, but please no low balling. If it listed here, it is a functional part in good condition. I have already put aside several parts that just don't look usable anymore. I will NOT sell something broken, period. (unless it is for a specific project, like the oil pan for Sir Sam)

Without further ado... The list:

Upper intake with the cam shafts intact and all lifters - Pulleys separate but available
Cylinder head complete with all valves - This looks amazing, NO IMPACT DAMAGE AT ALL from the cylinder breaking up. The only thing I can imagine is that the liner failed first, so the piston never came back to the top of the rotation.

Water pump
EGR Valve
FCV (had been run with an SEGR since 4 days after I bought the truck, so only 30k on EGR and FCV then they went dormant)
Stacked oil / antifreeze heat exchanger from rear-passenger side of block (near turbo)
EGR COOLER (still attached to EGR valve)
Viscous Clutch Heater - Looks in amazing condition, probably only ran once per year in Savannah Georgia.

Complete engine-side (of the firewall) wiring harness (no sensors) - NEEDS REPLACEMENT CONNECTOR for the "Mercedes Sensor" but otherwise intact.
Common Rail fuel rail, with Pressure release sensor on the end of the rail. Does not have pressure sensor from SIDE of the rail.
4 fuel injectors and connecting STEEL lines

Timing Belt idler pulleys - Two plastic smooth pulleys with bearings and bolt-bushings. Seem to be reverse-threaded bolts, bearings are ultra-smooth.
Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley - This is in great shape... It was the aluminum front cover that failed during the repair.
Aluminum engine front cover - Timing Belt Tensioner bolt hole IS NOT FUNCTIONAL - Helicoil stripped this out. SPECIAL PROJECTS ONLY FOR THIS ONE.
Oil Pan - LARGE HOLE UNDER #1 CYLINDER - SPECIAL PROJECTS ONLY. Cleaned and ready for shipping.
Various and sundry bolts and pins... A complete set of lifter parts, with every rocker arm (16 of the bastages!) ALL BROKEN. Ask for what you are looking for, I might have it.
2 Piston Sleeves - Decent shape, but I would probably want to get them milled if I was going to use them for anything other than a door stop or paperweight.
#3 and #4 Pistons complete with rod and rod caps - STRONGLY suggested as paperweights... I'm keeping the #2 for just that purpose! Will be cleaned before shipping.

More items I realized I forgot:
Engine harmonic balancer system (Sits in the oil pan, 4 counterweights) Spins easily and smoothly
Crankshaft position sensor...? I'm not sure on this one, it was bolted into the side of the engine, just forward of the bell housing / flex plate area, it is a big magnet.
Low pressure injector return lines and plastic fittings that plug into top of the injectors - NO CLIPS AT THIS TIME sorry.
Alternator bracket arms (both from behind alternator and underneath)

I'll add more as I organize things if I find I missed something.
Pictures are possible, as soon as I take some.

Let the pillaging begin!

One thing I should mention - PM me with your offers, and we can do the negotiation there. But do put your interest here, so people know if it is spoken for or not.

How much for the EGR and FCV?

If they're reasonably clean I'm interested.

FCV?

Engine side wiring harness?

Paper weight piston?

I also need the return fuel line that connects to the top of the injectors.....

I don't think I have that fuel line part Sam, but I will look when I get home today. I knew you wanted the oil pan, you have dibs on that.

Everybody: PM me with your desired item and offers, and we can work it out from there. :D

If it turns out the CP3 has not been spoken for, I am interested, but I'm not sure I can offer what its worth.

How about the turbo?

Thanks

Sir Sam-

FYI The 05+ KJ Oil Pan won't fit the engine in your Commanche project

Thats OK, I don't think he wanted it for the commanche project anyway. The pan has a slight "ventilation" problem due to the #1 piston leaving its assigned duty station.

The hole might be repairable, but I thought he was interested in figuring out where a probe could be located on it.

I know Matt, but I want the pan to modify for my 05 engine for the Cherokee project.

I modified the firewall on the MJ, I'm hoping to modify the oil pan for the XJ.

I wanted to cut it and reweld it for clearance over the front axle.

I need the following:
One of those retainer clips that hold the diesel return line in place as pictured in SirSam's picture
Electric fan located in front of the radiator
Grill, either silver or chrome
I think I need four glow plugs

Well... Let me see:

#1 - Yea, I think I might have one or two of those, they should be in the box with the bolts if they are anywhere.
#2 - Sorry, everything is from the engine only, the vehicle wasn't wrecked. Just the engine.
#3 - Ditto, sorry.
#4 - Well, I *do* have some glow plugs, but one of them I know is broken, and the rest were delivered to me loose. You sure you want them? I wasn't planning on selling those, just b/c I don't trust their condition.

New glow plugs are pretty cheap, FYI.

Geordi,

This may sound ridiculous but I am looking for one of the rubber grommets that attaches and holds the engine cover inplace.... The previous owner lost it and causes the cover to rattle.

The dealer has no part number for it and it is only available as an assebly with the engine cover.

Racer... So you are looking for the rubber part, and Cerich is looking for the post that it locks onto... Heh, I wasn't planning to sell my own (unused) engine cover, but maybe I should think about it!

I'll have to go poking around to see if I have an extra one of those posts for Cerich, but I know that I only have the same rubber grommets that are in my engine cover. Let me think about that, if I want to sell it.

I wont take the grommet that you need for your engine.

Sam.

Unless the line has special ends or something VW uses it for their return line on their diesels too. It has a yellow stripe so you can tell it's not regular vacuum line. 3mm if I recall correctly. There's a local import parts place that I get it by the foot.

Fuel pump is sold!

Joe - I think Sam was looking for the fitting that jacks into the injector, not the viton low-pressure line. Look at the picture, you can see that the fitting (weak plastic of course) is snapped off in the hose on his finger.

Sam - I do have that fitting, I have all four from the engine swap, PLUS the inter-injector lines if those are what you are looking for, and my reply to Joe was wrong. I can tape it to the inside of the oil pan for you, just LMK about the pan. Hows $5 for that fitting sound?

Cerich - Are you looking for the rubber grommet like RacerTracer, or the post that screws into the engine? I have a couple of the post side, $5 for the shipping and its yours. I will probably want to wrap it up with a little bit of wood (like a splint) to keep it from getting broken in the mail.

Jimare - Are you wanting the plastic fitting, or the little wire clip that locks it in place? Fittings, I got. Clips... Not so much. Looks like those didn't get saved by the tech when he was working on the engine, unless there is still another box of bolts I've missed.

The parts list has been updated again, with more stuff that I've found. If you don't see what you want, LMK, I might have it!

FYI: Next week (Before and through Easter) is going to be crazy with travel and work for me. I WILL SHIP OUT ASAP IF YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING, but I just wanted to let everyone know if there is a delay. I should be online fairly often during this time however. Paypal address is ebay [at] maincomputer [dot] com.

Thanks for keeping this stuff in the CRD family! I do NOT want to see any of it get wasted. That includes the block and the liners... If someone wants them for some reason.
