Landed a new job with a company car so will want to get rid off my Jeep soon :BANANA: :BANANA: :pepper:

Does anybody know which wire i can cut that will turn off the CEL for good :banghead: :banghead:

Is your new company car fast? Could be an asset if the guy who buys it finds out you pulled a stunt like that.

I got rid of my car when I got one from the company but I was lucky enough to be issued a KJ CRD!

What mods have you done?

No - his was weird - he did a jump start and it blew the BCM or something - they have to replace a computer to get it to turn off.

Sorry, I call BS on that one. If the BCM was fried, a whole HOST of things wouldn't function... Such as the locks, windows, remote unlock, Cruise control...You get the idea.

Something wrong with his scanner, or it wasn't a genuine DRBIII from a dealer. They might have had a CAN-bus system scanner that was expecting voltage on a specific pin (called the K wire) and if their system got that voltage on a different wire b/c of a problem in their wiring... It could do interesting things.

But the fact that you drove out of there at all... Says they didn't do what they claim happened. That is a good thing, don't go back there.
