I received my GDE ECO ECU today and it is now installed and running. This is the first 'Export Model' tune to my knowledge, certainly the first in Australia. Keith and I have been discussing this and exchanging information on my 2007 CRD for the past few weeks.

I'm very happy with it on initial impressions, and my long standing lumpy surging idle problem is now gone.

Smooth power.

Here is my write up on the install and first drives on Australian Jeep Offroad:

I'll be keeping my original ECU as a spare, after all its a long way to GDE from here.

Cool, I like Pioneers. Hope you enjoy your Eco tune. Do you have a USA build Jeep, or is it Euro?

Well it was built in Toledo but they all are aren't they? Its right hand drive/metric speedo etc. I believe all "Export Models" are similiar with the exception of the obvious LHD and RHD country requirements.

GDE will have to comment on code differences. I had to supply my injector code information, VIN number, and my mods.I was advised that there had to be a few slight changes for our market.

Australia is actually Jeeps largest market outside of the USA.

It will be interesting to see if GDE can get their tune into the Wrangler CRD market here in Australia, its a natural progression for their products and the engine differences are minor. The Liberty (KK) CRD is also sold here, with the VM engine of course.
