Well, I bit the bullet, I am going to sell my POS Troy Bilt lawn tractor, and my POS White 45" snow thrower and replace it with some thing that better fits my taste for mechanical power.

I put the money down on a John Deere 2305 3 cyl diesel powered tractor.
For now, I am getting a 54" snow plow, and a 54 inch mower deck.

I took it for a test drive yesterday and it was smooth, vibration it the drivers seat is almost absent. I probably wont be able to wait for the grass to grow or the snow to fly.

Have you spoken with GDE to see what they can do to increase performance and fuel economy.

Dang, beat me to it. :ROTFL:

I wonder if ARB can make up a better bumper for it that holds the winch, deer deflector, foglights, snowplow blade, and the snowthrower attachment?

I have one with the JD snowblower, great units! love the 3 point hitch, using all the attacments off the old Ford tractor. Get them to throw on a block heater if you get temps below 0 degrees C makes starting much easier.

No electronics in this that I know of, but I can not be sure? Pretty sure it is just in IP. OTOH, why would it need a GDE tune, it is a JD not a Jeep.

If you have to ask... You aren't a true gearhead.

Go read this CNN article about cars, and Tim Allen's comments in it: http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/personal/03/16/modern.classic.cars/index.html?iref=allsearch

I think we can all agree that he is a true car guy and gearhead, far more than Jay Leno is (although Jay also I would classify as a car guy).
Tim Allen wouldn't ask that question. He would ask how much power the engine could make.

I did not ask any thing, I was saying it is a John Deere, it is not like our Jeeps, they need a GDE tune. The John Deere on the other hand is tuned just right out of the factory.

Although its gas powered, I have the big Honda track drive snow blower. When I start it up, women faint and men get hard

I'm thinking it needs a re tuned larger bore IP, larger injectors, and how about twins

Hell, maybe I should spec it with a 13.5L: 261-448 kW (350-600 hp) Diesel engine.

Why even bother with a puny 24 hp engine. I gotta get the grass mowed fast, and plow the driveway fast so I can get my 1000 HP mall assault vehicle out on a shopping trip :goink:

Here is the puny 24HP

Now your talking... Add in twin IP's, twin turbos and +100 or +150 hp injectors and you'll really be rolling :pepper:

Aye mate - you'll like that. Had a JD955 with all the add ons. Cab w/heat, 60" snow blower, 72" mow deck, loader, 60" tiller, and 72" box blade. Made short work out of just about any project. I really like the "new" cabs a lot better. :D

Block heater and a batt heater were needed to keep things happy at -35 in the winter though.

Personally I am fond of the JD 4045, but the 6068 is fine too

Our church bought a new JD 770 with the 3 cyl Yanmar engine several years ago to maintain the property with. It's funny because when the CRD KJ came out....that tractor is exactly what this engine reminded me of. Sounds identical to it in operation.

I have a John Deere 332 diesel with the 3 cylinder Yanmar engine, that is rated at either 16 or 18 hp. I have a 55" mowing deck that is hydraulic along with a front blade that has hydraulic tilt and angle. Its' an awsome machine, great on fuel compared to the gas version 318. This is my second 332. I picked this one up on ebay, it was completely overhauled. These JD's last forever!

You could have mounted a plow on the front of the Jeep and ganged a few lawn mowers together to pull behind the Jeep to cut the grass.
