Will higher end code readers also read the water tempature? I would like to know what temp the thermostat is opening.

If the thermostat is bad I want to get it replaced before the 100k (17k left) warranty expires. How expensive and difficult is the thermostat assembly if you have to do it yourself?

Thanks

My VAG-COM unit will read engine temperature but it's in Celcius  But it will take more then a code reader. I suspect someone will chim in that the Scanguage will too.

There has been more postings on thermostats then I care to read in the last few months so maybe a search or just look on the first page of subjects will give you a hint  Some even have a picture of the temperature guage supplied by GDE with the temperature of each of the markings from 176f and upward :D
