if you were in the middle to removing all the stuff to replace the CP3 would change the timing belt while you were in there? the Jeep in question has 53K miles at the moment. Thoughts? would change the tensioner too? Thanks -dkenny |

that's what I was thinking too. I do have some questions for those that have changed the timing belt. are the marks on the cam gears supposed to align? ie both vertical at the same time? what about using a piece of soft wood to wedge between these gear to keep them from moving when the belt is removed? I know the crank won't move the cams might. thanks for the help -dkenny |

I had to change my tensioner a few weeks along. Now the tensioner runs nice and smooth and it doesn't move like it does on the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJDKaqMU0uQ |

is that the tensioner that talk about replace or is the one inside for the timing belt? edit->another question what using after market belts? rock auto has 2 different belts. gates and acdelco both cheaper than moparonlineparts. thanks for the help -dkenny |

That is the tensioner for the serpentine belt. That is a little rough for a good tensioner but like he said he replaced it and it is much smoother now. |
