Had my cooling system flushed and cleaned by the dealer this weekend as per scheduled maintenance.

Now I notice my temperature gauge needle is registering higher on the gauge and nearer to the 1/2 way mark just a tad under where it should be according to the GDE picture we have seen floating around from the other thread on this same subject.

I am thinking that my thermostat and housing might just need some deep cleaning to return to normal, so I plan to remove it when i have some time and soak it in heavy duty parts cleaner overnight then reinstall it.

Our Thermostats may just need some corrosion knocked off of the mechanism so it can move freely once again or I may just be wasting time, i don't know. Any advice on this?

When I replaced mine, it looked like the day it was made on the inside. Except for the broken spring.

Mine was clean as well, just didn't work correctly. You should just replace it if you are going to take it off.
