I was under the hood today cleaning my battery terminals on my replacement Mopar. Decided to clean my MAP sensor and noticed the 13mm bolts on the block that attach the alternator mount were visibly loose over a 1/4"?! This is right next to the oil dipstick, if you still have your engine cover on you will need to pop it off. I torqued them down by hand and will check them in a week or two. If the loosen again I'll put some thread locker on them. I had a faulty water pump replaced about 3k ago but I can't imagine you would need to remove the alternator?? Thoughts? Thanks |

Thanks for the heads up. I will probably pass up the inspection, I doubt all 11000 Libby CRDs are going to have this same problem. ![]() |

How is your de-coupler pulley on you alternator. Vibration does strange things. |

Thanks I just did my timing belt / water pump recently. Removing the alternator and mount is necessary. It was probably just missed during reassembly. Hope this eases your mind about things rattling apart...probably does not ease your mind about whoever replaced your water pump though... ![]() |
