a question, maybe someone might have experience or know even, think one of glow plugs needs changing, but thats not my question
are glow plugs still in use after a kj crd is warmed up,as was told that some jeeps use there glow plugs too burn off excess fuel in a small degree

I think the person who told you that was nuts.

I quite doubt they are ever on for more than a second or two after the engine has started.

I drove my Jeep to the top of Logan's Pass in Glacier National Park last August. Even in the summer, it is chilly there. As I recall, it was 55 degrees F when we were there. The drive back down Going To The Sun road is many miles downhill every foot of the way, all at speeds of 25-30 mph, and some slower. I coasted most of the way in gear to save the brakes, and by the time I got near the bottom where I needed to finally touch the go pedal, the engine had cooled off so much that I got quite an impressive cloud of black soot. Very clearly the engine was barely burning the fuel. This behavior persisted for a good 200 yards, with not much in the way of power, and just about the time I was deciding I might have a real problem, the smoke cleared and power returned. It had never done anything like that before, and hasn't ever since. I would have liked to have had a bit of glow plug at that time.

i got black smoke around 2000 rpm going upwards in revs, think its because its not burning all the fuel, the injectors where fine and checked on a machine, did cleaners etc in fuel, only thing that might be and tell me if im wrong is i got the ecu bios upgraded,[chipped] when it only has 68k miles on it and now it has 168k miles on it,wonder does it it need too be ecu bios ungraded too suit high miles or maybe the ungrade it has now doesnt suit, find these mornings only that it start ok but cuts out straight away and have too do a second start for it too stay going,i see blue smoke and then changes too black when starting in mornings
