Hi, Maybe some you can help me with my latest issue. I recently did a bunch of work on the Jeep and added the GDE eco tune and the EHM. I don't think my problem is with either of the two mods but now I'm getting a ton of smoke out of the the EHM and am suffering terrible mileage. I'm planning on ditching the EHM because I can't have smoke pouring from under the hood. Of course I assume that this isn't normal for those running it. I am running a bio blend but I don't think its bad bio The place is reputable and busy. I'm wondering if I'm having a problem with the turbo. Maybe the intercooler hoses? I have SAMCOs on order but for some reason they delayed shipping them before the volcano and now who knows when they will get here. Thanks for your help, FineDining |

Did you top off the oil to the full mark on the dipstick? Many on this forum have said this was wrong and you are overfilled at that point. I don't have any mods except for GDE, but you may be pushing excess oil vapor out of the EHM? |

Significant smoke from the EHM is normal on our '05 CRD. (Now that the rear main seal leak is fixed, no oil needs to be added between 6K oil changes @ 75K.) Too much oil may make it worse, but I don't know from experience. DOC |

Interesting stuff. Does the EHM affect gas mileage? Fine-Dining |

It doesn't. I used to have the smoke coming from under the hood to and got annoyed so i rerouted my hose all the way to the exhaust with a 90 under the bumper pointing at the end of the exhaust. Now it just looks like the smoke is coming out of the exhaust. |

Still am getting consistent mixed average of around 24-25 mpg and travel avereage of near 30 mpg. I cannot see how the EHM would change anything on mpg. Filter plugging can change mpg. |

I just can't believe that there are a bunch of us driving around in a cloud of smoke. I'm also not getting that kind of mileage but I'm also doing a lot of city driving. I just changed my fuel heater assembly and haven't hooked up the heater. Is that a reasonable explanation for bad mpg and potentially excessive smoke? Fine-Dining |

The EHM will create smoke, but should not effect mileage. |
