Gentlemen, Is there a specific shift kit for the 2006 CRD? I often find references that covers 99' to 05' or mentions 99' and on... So far, I can find the SK#545 kit, SK2#545, 545RFE-HD2 and some mention basic or performance  Which one would be the best/sanest choice? Thx! |

Call TransGo directly and see what they recommend. Eliminate any misleading direction you may get here. The best way to communicate with TransGO is on the telephone. It's the most Direct way. Call Them at 626-443-7451 8-5 Pacific Time M-F lunch hour is from 12-1 2621 Merced Ave El Monte, CA 91733-1997 For your Information, many people who have installed the kit, confirm that the computer in our CRD will relearn the shift points, return back to factory settings and undo anything that the TransGo kit attemps to modify. If this is true then this modification would be worthless. |

It is the 45RFE-HD2 Kit. http://www.suncoastconverters.com/Jeep/ ... ducts.html Simply installing the kit is not enough to change the transmission behavior, you have to solder a resistor onto an external wiring harness. Here is a member's detailed install: http://liberty.eurekaboy.com/transgo.htm It will not change the shift points from the dreaded F37, but it will make shifts firmer and bulk up the strength of the valve body. |

I may have it wrong but I believe TransGo informed me not to solder the resistor.......... The resistor is no longer needed if you have the new pump installed. |

linewarbr, You are right, I gave a look at Suncoast's site to find out what they recommended, looks like the 45RFE-HD2 is the right kit... Now, the beauty of it is I also have a spare TCM that's pre-F37. That should help bring out the full potential of the mods, hopefully, though I recall reading about that resistor add-on... Would it still be required in that case, then? Thx! |

Would it still be required in that case, then? Thx! Problem with the resistor is that the TCM learns how to live with out it and wipes out any change in a few days. Ron Wolverton (SunCoast) recommends not installing the resistor. |
