Even though my CRD has the latest revision (according to stickers under the hood and on the ECU), the "key trick" does appear to work. When I cycle the key 3 or 4 times, I get the "done" message on my dash (since there are no codes right now). I had read that this feature was disabled by software updates over the years...but it still works on mine.

Just an FYI. Try it if you have a CEL...it may work on yours too.

Could the Aztecs have known, that in 2012 after a 4 year experiment, our country would cease to exist?

Everything I've been told lately was that '05s would work with this trick...UNTIL the software revisions in the ECU disabled it. Therefore, it won't work on '05s anymore.

I was just posting this as an FYI that it DOES work on my '05 even with the software revisions.
