CRD Stalled

Went to grab some food the other day...while i was waiting at the drive through, i shut down the crd. after getting the food, started it up and put in in drive, immediately stalled. put it in park and started right back up.

1. drove a couple hundred miles that day. some offroading...
2. The Torque converter and flash were replaced around 25k miles - 81k total miles now. (according to service records).
3. had a wix fuel filter put on at 78k by dealer (former dealer)

Air in fuel? Bad transmission filter?

No idea the problem...hasn't happend again. However, i do notice that the CRD is definately not as peepy as other jeeps i've owned. I'm assuming it's from the Flash on the Transmission.

Stout Dog, how in the world are you getting 29 miles per gallon. i seem to be averaging 23...the last owner (1 owner before me) had a boost box - which was killing the mileage - I took it off and now up to at least 23 miles.

My sig has all of my modifications. Most important: GDE Tune, Magnaflow muffler, Amsoil air filter, and clean MAP/hoses. I'll soon be adding a 192* tstat and TCM tune, both of which should improve my mpg even more.

Add to that lots of highway driving and cruising at 60-62mph around Phoenix (speed limit of 65)... On the highway, I generally just do whatever the speed limit is, as the time saved outweighs the cost of diesel. For example, driving 75 instead of 62 costs about $1 of fuel for every 15 minutes saved. Also, I keep my RPMs at or below 2000 when accelerating from a light, which keeps me right with traffic, and I coast/time traffic lights whenever it is possible and safe to do so.

My mpg is probably going to drop some, however, as I'm now considering switching over to B99 completely, which lowers my mpg about 10%. This oil spill, which looks like it is about to devastate my native North Florida, is motivating me to spend the extra $$$ (about $8/tank) and get off the drink completely

P.S. If you wait a couple of weeks, I believe GDE is going to do another LOST group buy and you will be able to purchase their ECM tune for $450 or so.

X2, I drove to Flagstaff, AZ from Phoenix last week climbing up out of Black Canyon City doing 80+ all the way and still had plenty more go pedal. I got 25.8 mpg driving mostly 80 the entire way. Before the hot tune I was lucky to hold 65 on the way up and had to feather the pedal to keep the transmission from down shifting...and got 21 mpg.

X2, you cant drive with the pedal to the metal every time you take off, you cant be right on the tail of the driver in front of you with one foot on the brake, and one on the gas. From my observations, alot of people do jack rabbit accelerations trying to get to the next stop sign of traffic light, where I usually catch back up to them. Then they floor it once again, or they are riding my tail with one foot on the brake and one on the gas.

Did you fill up in Flagstaff or back in Phx? The reason I ask is that the worst I've gotten on that route, there and back on a tank, is 29mpg... doing 75mph.

Filled up in Flag. Haven't checked to see if my wife has filled up since to compare downhill mileage.

Kind of like when we fill up and drive down to D town or the Springs. I get 47 mpg in my mustang GT.
