Running around in town today the CEL came on for some reason but it was still running OK although it did sound a bit more "diesel" I think. Stopped at Pep Boys and they read a P0340 (occurred twice) and a U0121.

Apparently the P0340 is a cam position sensor circuit missing signal plausibility and the U0121 is lost communication with anti-lock brake module. My best guess is that this is some sort of communication fault so I bought an Actron code reader that was on sale. Wouldn't you know it, the code reader only gives me a link error but it was the same model the guy in the store used.

Now the CEL is off and the code reader still give a link error. Does anyone have some words of advice on the codes and the code reader.

Do you get different/any codes when pulling the KJ codes through the ignition start method?

Ign start method seems to be disabled in the 2006 models. I never could get it to work and it seems others have said the same thing,

I got the P0340 once and it never came back after I cleared it. My understanding is that sensor is only used at start-up. I get that other code all the time if I try and clear codes with the engine running on my $30 dollar code reader. I clear it and ignore it.

I was never able to clear the code as the Actron reader still give a link error. However, the CEL has not come back on so all seems well.

Now to see if Pep Boys will take the Actron back for something that works.
