Where do you all order your parts from? The dealer is not convenient, at least for the day to day stuff. I just became the proud owner of an '06 limited with 55K. I don't have the service records so the first thing I want to do is to complete all the recommended services to the 60K service interval as if none was done at all. That means filters, fluids and checks and I will be needing to order parts.

I am somewhat able to turn a wrench and wondered if the differentials, transmission and transfer cases fluids are easy to replace and is the transmission filter (sump and screw-on?) easy to do? Will I need replacement gaskets such as transmission oil sump? I am getting a service manual (on order) so these questions maybe answered there, but I just wanted feedback from owners who do their own.

BTW, Little Rock to Orlando, 27.8 mpg Evic (25.8 calculated) traveling 75 mph or so. It sure is nice to be able to go from Pensacola to Orlando on one tank; with plenty of fuel to spare!

Thanks! Mike

Congradulations on the purchase.. I hope you love the Jeep.

I get my oil at Wal-mart and filters at NAPA

Here is an Amsoil site that list oll the oil types, weights and capacities even some part numbers for Wix filters
http://www.amsoil.com/mygarage/ProductRecommendations.aspx?FromIndex=1&url2=2006+JEEP+LIBERTY+5

I only use the Absolute Efficiency Air Filter (EAA201) and nothing else from Amsoil so far but the page is helpful. for the Trans and transfer case you want to use ATF+4 if buying at a retail store.
