Howdy from Dallas, here for the weekend for a little family get together then its back to colorado for me. Started off at 6:05 am and 13 hours and 24 minutes later arrived in Dallas(stopping for about an hour in amarillo for lunch with some other family). Got pretty good mileage it looks like from Amarillo to dallas(only down about 5/8's of a tank), but from Trinidad to Amarillo we netted about 15MPG. Apparently driving 110MPH in a KJ in west Texas doesn't net very good mileage, is noisy too. On the plus side you make great time. Other than that its humid and hot here, I look forward to getting back to colorado where its just hot. Later folks. |

Also Colorado is at a higher elevation where the heat does not feel as bad. 75f in the Midwest or South is more uncomfortable than 90f in Fort Collins.

Sir Sam, there must be a problem with your Jeep. On the interstate, you should be getting at least 720 miles per tank.

WOW if he was doing 110MPH he must have some big brass ones down there. I have never pushed mine faster than 90..... the engine runs too loud and fast, then there is the law thing. I don't want no ticket...... and doing 110 would envoke a lisence suspension even with no proir moving violations on ur record. |

I don't think I was able to hit 110 in mine maybe 109 if I remember correctly. I was driving from Durango, CO to Albuquerque trying to make it to Sandia before Cowboys playoff game started a couple years ago. Cowboys lost |

Plus at our elevation the sun is much more intense, an hour out here and you'll burn bad, all day in the south and I won't burn at all. mikey1273 wrote: WOW if he was doing 110MPH he must have some big brass ones down there. Keep in mind this is west texas where you can see the cars coming for 10 miles. Slow down when you see a car to the speed limit, and then speed back up. Cowboys lost As soon as I hit 110 it felt like I hit a wall, and the Jeep barely wanted to climb past that speed, it kinda felt like there was some kinda of govner there. Plus the tranny kicked it down out of OD. |

Sam, I gotta ask, what kind of RPM's were you turning at 110 mph? That's gotta be close to redline. 2000=68-69. 2500=85. 3550-4250? Just curious. I've only gone past redline once while I was pulling out a minivan last winter of a poor neighbor lady being surrounded by "help" that visibly scared her. I was busy watching her and the "help" instead of the gauges. Oh well, got her out. Boilercardinal |
