Hi! i just purchased a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD and I love it! I've been a Diesel owner for a long time and I'm a previous owner of a VW Rabbit diesel and an Audi 5000 diesel. I'm glad that jeep produced Diesels for two years and couldn't wait to get my hands on one. Even though I like it,by reading this forum,I'm already aware of some maintenance issues that shouldn't be overlooked.the EGR valve maintenance and the fuel filter air leaks, just to name a few.I intend to keep up on its maintenance. The only issue I currently have is that the power mirrors don't work, and I have to assume that a fuse must be blown to affect both mirrors...I consulted the owners manual and I only see a reference to mirrors on fuse #29 heated mirrors which I don't think I have.Does anyone know which fuse protects the power mirrors? is this issue with the mirrors another problem plaguing the CRD? I'd appreciate any information on this.
I'm located between Allentown and Reading in Pa,the town I live in is Blandon.
Thanks

Have you looked for an owner's manual?
Before you say you don't have one look carefully in the TOP of the glove box. You'll see a barley visable shelf and if your lucky their will be a kaki color canvas bag containing it :jester:

I have the owners manual but I can't find any reference to the power mirrors fuse, in neither of the fuse boxes.I located the fuse box in the cabine(left side of the dashboard),and the power center fuse box in the engine compartment. As I stated earlier, there is one fuse#29 for the heated mirrors which I believe I don't have.I just need to know if there is another fuse that could be protecting the power mirror function.... neither one of my mirrors is working which leads me to believe that the power was interrupted somewhere..... thanks for your reply.

Here's what the FSM says :D

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - POWER MIRRORS
WIRING VOLTAGE TEST
The following wiring test determines whether or not voltage is continuous through the body harness to switch.
1. Remove the power mirror switch (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/POWER MIRRORS/POWER MIRROR SWITCH -
REMOVAL).
2. Disconnect wire connector from back of power mirror switch.
3. Switch ignition to the RUN position.
4. Connect the clip end of a 12 volt test light to Pin 5 in the harness connector at the mirror switch. Touch the test
light probe to Pin 3.
If the test light illuminates, the wiring circuit between the battery and switch is OK.
If the lamp does not illuminate, first check fuse 25 in the Junction Block (JB). If fuse 25 is OK, then check for a
broken wire.
Refer to the appropriate wiring information.

It turns out that I have a bad power mirror switch. Following the instructions,as stated in the service manual,I was able to test both mirrors motors and the presence of 12Volts at the switch. The switch is definitely bad. I have one on order and should be a simple task to install it.
Thanks again.
