The Torque converter for both years was replaced under recall. [snip] [quote]
Actually that's not completly true and I'm just trying to keep prospective new owners from getting the wrong information
A better statement is "Those made before November 05 had the Torque Converter replaced and both TCM and ECM (yes, two seperate computers) reflashed and those made from November 05 and onward just got the flash".
Pre 11/05 got the same torque converter as the 11/05 and onwards 06 model ones came with. Additionally some of those early ones got the later redesigned transmission pump if the tech could hear a noise coming from the Torque converter. As far as the flash goes the biggest complaint is from those who drive a lot on roads with a 60 MPH speed limit. Going by the Speedometer (that is wrong by the way) the original transmission programming shifted into 5th at 59 MPH and after it shifts at 64 again by the speedometer. Even taking in account the speedometer error the later shifting would mean going over 60 true MPH slightly. It also on a gentle start from a stop it revs to around 2400. Previously it was around 2000 or less. Both of these casued it to use more fuel

It was all to cure a shudder.
EDIT I forgot to mention and this might be worth while. Find out if the original owner bought a extended warranty and if so can it be transfered to you, if so there will be a charge. I think this is for second owners only and more and more CRD's are on their third or more owners. The Chrysler Gold warranty was available in varying years and miles depending on what you wanted to pay for. I bought a 7 year 70k miles.
