I emailed Ross Tech some questions and they seemed interested in their system working on some of the CRD functions. So to help out Santos from RT, I wanted to provide a place for them to reference to on LOST KJ. So please post any findings and questions here for them to monitor. Thank you. |

I'm a registered user of vag-com with a HEX+CAN serial unit with a $30 serial to USB interface on a Asus Eee note book. I'm able to clear engine codes and read most all engine parameters using the OBD mode. It can identify the engine and transmission controler by their exact part number that has the firmware version as the last two alpha positions. When clearing a code it gives a ABS communications failure that others have reported with other scanners It drops off line while driving like the scanguage II and most other unit It sure would be nice to do other neat functions like change how the door locks operate but these are not VW's ![]() It also works well on my 00 Cherokee 4.0L

I too have the Vagcom for my 2006 VW TDI and I use the Micro CAN. It does NOT work on the Jeep CRD probably because the CRD doesn't use a CAN bus. I guess I should have gotten a different model where it would do both types of buses. |
