Hey there!

Got myself some funky error codes this week:

U0146 Lost communication with gateway "A"
U0121 Lost Communication with ABS Control Module
P0146 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity detected Bank 1 Sensor 3

Last week, I replaced my rear brakes and rotors and had a rough time trying to pull the old rotors out. The parking brake adjustment on both wheel was frozen stiff in rust and I was therefore unable to retract the inner pads to get good clearance. So I used the do-it-all tool (Hammer!) to pry the rotors out, with a lot of WD-40 to help slip it out. Once done, I cleaned up with some break cleaner and re-assembled everything. The dust backplate on one side is now slightly loose, which may not be too bad, except for the ABS sensor connected through it!

Could the cause for these codes now be defective sensors? I'm ordering new ones to replace them but thought I'd trow this one out in the forum and get your feedback...

Also, these codes also caused me to fall into limp mode once (while driving), with the added bonus of rendering the vehicle helpless with an automatic shutdown of the engine 3 sec. after startup. Let's hope it's not one of them crazy gremlins creeping again under the hood

I don't think P0146 translates to that for the VM, no O2 sensors.

U0121 Lost Communication with ABS Control Module

I get this code if I have my scanner active with the engine running. Otherwise I never see it.

It should have likely been a U0146 which is a CAN bus fault, likely related to the others. THere aren't any other (x)0146 faults.
