Anyone know what happens to all these Concept Jeeps (eg. Jeep Rescue, etc) ?
Does Chrysler stuff them away in a warehouse somewhere or are they cannibalized for some other, "We'll never produce it project..."
After the big car shows or Moab you just never see these vehicle again. With this being the info age, if some Exec's brother in-law got one, you'd see
a, "Guess what I saw at the mall yesterday" picture.....

o  but in an answer to your question is that they dont sell them, the reason for this is that most concept vehicles are not full complete and would take alot of work to be road legal, also insurance would be a problem because wat insurance company is gunna give you coverage on a "concept" car, but if you wanna double check my info you can :google: it

my guess is they keep the ones they think are the better ideas or thatthey got good buyer reaction to someplace and revisit it to come up with ideas for other vehicles. or if we are talking about concept corvettes or other vehilces with cult following they often are saved and placed in the manufacturer's musiem years later.

If it's a modification of a production vehicle - it might stay around for a while - but if it's a true 1 off - then after the car shows - it gets crunched - no VIN - not license-able .

Read an article where Ford auctioned off a bunch and made about 4 million for the dream engineering department.
There's been some nice units under the Jeep banner that I guess have been sent to the crusher.
Seems like kind of a shame. Would be kind of fun doin' a little dumpster divin' at the Jeep Dream Shop......

Most of the concept/prototype vehicles get crushed due to no VIN,that is the law.The rest end up in there respected company's main headquarters museum. They can not be sold to the public.

The original Liberator has been crushed if I remember correctly just recently.

I would LOVE i mean absolutely LOVE a Rescue.

We are almost ready to move to a different country just for a diesel wrangler or a hilux.

What kind of freedom is this? I dont want to kill people i just want a decent vehicle.

What happens to them? The dummies never produced them. That's why they went bankrupt! That gladiator would have sold as many as they could have produced!

Add a Hemi to the line along with the CRD and they wouldnt have been able to make them fast enough!

They STILL havent figured out how to give us a diesel Wrangler. I spoke with a Chrystler rep one time and he told me requests for diesel Wranglers top all
requests! And the dumb asses cant figure out how to give one to us.

We had a GM rep come to an ASME meeting and I asked about diesel - he said it takes $2500 worth of emissions controls - so they wouldn't consider it for the US market....

I wonder what would happen if they let the customer make those decisions...

Well Id pay 2500.00 for a GOOD diesel engine in the vehicle of my choice!!!

Id certainly pay that for a V6 CRD in a Wrangler.
