Where can I find a quick disconnect for my front swaybar? Also how much extra flex can I expect to get on my 05 CRD with OME 790 springs on the front?

JBA makes quick disconnects for the front. this is my CRD disco'd front with rear disco'd and 790 fronts 1/4 top plate and 3 ring clevis lift.

overall, it is much better offroad IMHO. others such as tommudd will tell you it doesn't make too much of a difference, i think its semi preference. With it disco'd it rides 20 times smoother both on road and off road and gives a wee bit more travel. at rausch with the constant rocks everywhere, it smooths out the trail ride by far.

only downside is the stupid little wire that comes with it broke within minutes on the trail, so i either have to zip tie or bungie or something because it clanks around on the LCA. Also, i think this might wear the cv's a bit quicker, but im not positive.

I also had the swaybar lanyard wire break off right at the swag near the bracket. I suspect this is a quality issue with JBA.

I've never disconnected either sway bar and Moab is my backyard.

X2,though MOAB is not my backyard but the Rockies is.

Being SFA now I still will not disconnect my front swaybar.

Yeah anti-rock sway bar would be nice...

I was thinking of just unbolting mine so I wouldn't have to deal with the discos breaking.

irollgen4s, do you run with your front disco on the road all the time? What about the rear?

It's not safe to run with the front swaybar disconnected on the street. It's a intergreated part of the front suspension and is not safe to do so no matter what anyone say's.Driving at any speed above 5mph will cause major body roll if you have to do any emergency turns.

The rear is fine to remove and keep off as it does not attach to the body in anyway and is only there for trailer sway control.

I kept mine off for the past 10 days, and decided to put them back on today. While it rides smoother, i have come agree with Tom and TJ, there is just a ridiculous amount of body roll, and i couldn't be very aggressive. Sure it is fine to do if your careful, but if i have to swerve like i do for deer, i'd feel more comfortable with them being on there.

but i do keep my rear sway bar off at all times. I notice a bit more sway while towing, but i tow light loads, if i was going to tow something heavy i would definitely put the rear back on.

For sure I'd leave the front on while driving...

Actually I would have left the rear on too had I not just read that it's only helpful while towing... I did not know that, thanks!
