 Post subject: key switch/gde tune

our key switch broke, just turns with no resistance and won't start. if it goes to the dealer would they have any reason to mess with my ecu and erase my tune...I wouldn't even take it to them but of course I am working till Wed. then we leave on Vac.

Sounds like a problem in the mechanism, see no reason for them to touch the ECU?

If your out of warranty and have no extended warranty there would normally be a charge for a reflash :wink: So they would need to get your OK to preform the work. Just refuse if they ask.

How about a independent garage?
