Just switched from consistently running B5 to B75. It was time to change the filter so I did that at the same time as changing over to the B75.

If I was running B5 all the time, will there have been not as much sludge buildup in the fuel system? Or would you guys still recommend changing the fuel filter out again after this first tank of B75? I understand Biodiesel has solvent qualities...just wondering if the B5 had kept the gunk cleaned up that maybe I don't have to switch out the fuel filter again right away. Thanks!

Chad, I've gone back and forth between ULSD, B20, B100, and BXX depending on availability and weather for two years now and haven't had and issue with clogging when switching. I'm guessing your B5 will give you all the solvent properties that you need to keep things clear for your switch to B75.

Have to agree with Dan on this one. I have also run varying levels of bio in both my CRD and my semi with no effect on the filters. Only time I have had an issue was poor fuel, totally unrelated to bio usage.

I would just carry a spare filter with you just in case.

Always a good idea.
