I'm a fairly new CRD owner and last month I had a problem with my power mirrors,and after placing a posting on this site about it,several of you lead me in the right direction and I was able to resolve the issue. Just yesterday,on my return home from a long trip,my crd began vibrating at around 50mph,on decelaration,which had me very concerned.Well when I got home I came back to this site and searched "vibration" and guess what? I stumbled on a few posts where the complaints were exactly the same of what I was experiencing- a rumble strip noise,along with a bad vibration, all the way down from 50mph to a stop,and the "diagnosis" was a bad rear U-joint! Guess what,i was able to sleep much better last night,and this morning, I stopped by my mechanic and told him" Rob ,I have a noise and vibration coming from the drivetrain and the guys in the Liberty CRD forum said that it is a bad rear U-joint.I got a call later in the day from him saying"yep! you had a frozen joint in the rear.$84 later,I was driving the CRD out of the shop,trouble free. Thanks guys!what a wealth of technical information... |
