Post subject:  Colorado Timing Belt Change
I'm finally approaching the point where I need to think about replacing the timing belt in my 06 CRD. Has anyone in Colorado had theirs done and if so who did you use? I'm looking for a good shop that will treat my CRD right. I really love this Jeep and don't know what I'll ever purchase to replace it once it wears out. I want to keep it running as long as I can. If I was anywhere close to Colorado Springs and I needed work done - I'd take it to tjkj2002 - he's over at some Firestone. Find him & ask.

For anyone in the front range area who will be doing it yourself I have the tools for the KJ CRD's and the WK CRD's that I am willing to rent out.

I'm in colorado Springs, CO. Shoot me a PM when you are ready to do it. Expect to spend ~600.00 just in parts (includes waterpump). Talk to GDE to rent the tools for only 20.00 and I'll help you do it for free.

How long did it take you to do the job?

I am pretty good with a wrench.... Is it a difficult job?

Dealer wants $1000 to do the job, $1100 with Tstat.

I am at 88,000 and looking at options.

im right around 88k myself. does anyone know what the manual says to do this procedure at? and what a real world mileage figure would be, if at all different?

100k of what ? Miles or kilometers ?
I`m very confused... but :
- according my jeep cherokee (liberty) owners manual - Replace the engine timing belt and idler pulleys at 60 000 km
- according to another service manual - Replace the engine timing belt and idler pulleys at 100 000 km
- according to third service manual - Replace the engine timing belt and idler pulleys at 160 000 km or 100 000 miles
- according to .... service manual - Replace the engine timing belt and idler pulleys at 150 000 miles
All of those manuals are for Jeep Liberty (Cherokee) 2,8 crd

Anybody help me to understand those Chrysler standards please :dizzy:
