Just checking in w/ a quick positive thread. I've been using the tank to haul 12 5 gal buckets of rocks, and 10 80 lbs bags of concrete for all the yard work I've been doing at home this Summer. The CRD has really been a champ it likes pulling a load once in a while. Besides a launch from a dead stop, and the handling feel of having a full load performance change is negligible. PS I do drive w/ OD off and short 2-5 mile in town trips.

my CRD see regular duty hauling a 6x10 enclosed trailer loaded with a Kawasaki Ninja 600, generator, tools and assorted gear through the mountains of PA, VA, WV & NY to various racetracks. Other than the tranny overheating occasionally, it has pulled like a champ.

My KJ hauled a 96 Ford Ranger about 15 miles. Pulled like a v8! GASSER!

Just finished a 965 mile camping trip, about 800 miles towing our 3,000 lb travel trailer https://www.me.com/gallery/#100041

Up & down the I5/Grapevine and up to campground in the mountains. Average 20 MPG for the whole trip. Great trip and the CRD tows well.

Mine easily pulled a 3500+ lb Mercedes Benz 300D for well over 300 miles just fine. Getting 21 miles to the gallon and then hauled an enclosed trailer loaded with all the catering supplies for a 3000 person job at our local hospital. Love this thing large amounts of tourqe in a small package that is easy to park.

I've been curious about the load I pull, so last time I went across the scales at the Flying J and my GCW was almost 11,000 lbs.

The CRD laughs at 7,000 lb. trailers. I pulled up 5% grades at 65 MPH in 5th gear without downshifting.

With a SunCoast converter designed and built for towing, OD off only if you need to go up a long grade or you are fighting a lot of wind with your trailer.
The original stock converter is weak and you may damage it by not running with the OD off. If you never get into 5th when doing around town driving, it does not make a difference.
Jury is out on the Euro Converter, some Oil Analysis on the transmission fluid after some heavy duty towing would tell the truth on the suitability of the Euro for heavy duty towing in 5th lock.
