Ok. 56K miles, '06. It runs great. I drove home today with it in 4 wheel full time. Figure I should exercise the shifter, lubricate what ever moves and stuff. Everything is great except during moderate hard acceleration, I feel a vibration. Akin to a tire out of balance but with a faster frequency. I don't think it is torque converter "shudder" as I understand the feeling. I put it back in 2 wheel and everything returns to normal. Thanks for all your help! Mike |

Check the boots around the shaft. Mine has had a hole in it for the last 6 months. I put it in AWD last week during a downpour on I-75, and I too got a vibration. I figure the front joint is going out now, and I will be looking for a new shaft before winter. (Read into it if you have not already. The whole shaft needs to be replaced in the front if a boot goes out) I would love to know how many people have blown the front boot. I have 81K, and I have never taken my Jeep off road. I do live in hard winters though, so the AWD gets used for about 6 months out of the year. |

Mine stripped the front splines on the shaft and the connector. Gives the same feeling as a bad u-joint. |
