Post subject:  Really Odd Power Loss

Had my first issue in a long time last night. I had a complete loss of power almost like when the filter heads mess up. So i decided to pull over as soon as my foot lifted off of the pedal it dropped to a really rough ideal which i had no power at all just enough to steer to the shoulder. It was running really really rough so i shut it down and checked all my lines it was dark at the time so i could of missed something. But i took a chance b/c i was about a mile from home and tried to turn it back over and it start right up and ran fine the whole way home. Got in it this mourning and everything seems to be back to normal still no CEL or anything to indicate what happened last night. Any ideas what this could of been? Also i had major heat gain but a major loss in mileage. And all of this happened after a guy i work with wanted to hear what my exhaust sounded like so i reved up to about 3500 for him to here and all of this followed from there.

Time to change your fuel filter. When was the last change?

Probably about 15K ago now that i think about it. But wouldnt a fuel filter being clogged be a re-occuring happening of what happened to me last night? And i already have a racor replacement ordered and on the way hopefully it won't happen again.

Same thing happen to me and was fuel filter plugged enough not to accelerate fast. Of course changing the filter solved the problem.

It happened again and i have changed my fuel filter out, but did just changed where i get fuel today. Could that be it i mean it is a really rough idle and when i try to give it gas it dies completely on me. I had to try like 5 time to get it to start correctly this time. I am open to any idea. Also does anyone know if gasoline or diesel is denser?

When it happens again try bleeding the fuel filter and see how much air you find :seuss:
