I have noticed an issue with my rearend chattering when slowly taking off from a complete stop.. What could it be? Are these rears know for any issues? Like the fronts are? |

How do you know it's the diff itself? It could be a u-joint. |

Pop the cover and it will tell the truth, gears and bearings don't lie. If you do have a problem in the Rear End, you will have metal in the bottom of the case. Tires can produce noise and vibration as can bad universal joints. |

Why not just put it in N with the parking brake on and check the U-joints before you pull the diff cover off? Unless you are sure that is it? |

It's pretty random as to when they go. One of mine went at 47k. Get a greasable replacement if you can commit to greasing it regularly. Otherwise just get a sealed one, put it in and forget it. I replaced both while I had the driveshaft off. They're only like $15 each. |
