Good morning to everybody :-)

I hope that this thread is not covered already somewhere else, but I am new to this forum and haven´t found a similar thread so far.

On Friday I drove my Jeep (2006 Liberty CRD) to the local garage to get some wheel spacer installed.

After a while the guy came to ask me if I had already recognized problems with the throttle?
I said no and than he told me that the mechanic just drove the jeep into a wall in the garage because the throttle was wide open and it was not possible to get the vehicle in neutral.

The second problem he told me or maybe the problem he said was that the ECU was so hot that the mechanic wasn´t even able to touch it.
By the way I bought the Liberty used from a Toyota Dealer, has the Toyota problem now comes to Jeep?

Thanks for your help
Best regards
Thomas

Tell him that that kind of BS is not getting him out of paying for the damage to your Jeep. The CRD has no throttle. Also, the brakes will hold the rig in place even if the accelerator is fully depressed. Also, if it was in run-away status, the simplest thing to do is turn off the key.

That doesn't seem like a troll post, but it DOES seem like the original poster needs to find himself a good lawyer. If the mechanic has damaged your Jeep and is just going to lie to you to get out of paying for his errors... You need legal assistance.

I'm going to assume that you have been driving your Jeep around for a little while, and that you actually DROVE it to the mechanic to install those spacers? The mechanic is lying to you then. He did something stupid and doesn't want his insurance to pay for it. Make him pay extra for the annoyance.

What ticks me off is that anytime I try to get a password reset, or get locked out of the forum, or whatever the case may be... it's HE11 on Earth trying to get a response from Admin and some help around here.

But then you've got these trolls and even people coming over from the Rover forums (a.k.a. Euro Trash) for the sole purpose of starting fights...and they get an account activated in less than a day.

What's that all about??
