Here's the CRD and my new - to - me boat. I just gotta change a bilge pump, lubricate a steering cable, change a fuel filter and change the differential fluid. Fishing is so relaxing. At least only half the items are things I have to do to the Jeep!

And I just realized that my posted picture is so bad you probably can't see that I had to remove the spare to get the boat to hook up. Tried to find a longer ball mount but they're not at walmart or tractor supply. fishing is so relaxing.

I had to get a longer ball mount from www.ontheball.com to work with my KJ with spare mounted. I think it's the 14" one that I bought.

Congrats on the boat. From my recent experience, if you get a longer hitch, do not get the extension tube. The play that is present from two hitch pins caused mine to sway pretty badly. No matter how I shifted weight, set boat on trailer, raise or lower the tongue, it still swayed. Make sure it is a solid bar hitch with a ball. That corrected my problem. EDIT: Go to Harbor Freight on SOBT. They may have what you need.

Oh. And I hope to see you at the Haulover ramp lost somewhere in the skinny waters of the Lagoon.

If you turn the spare mount over the tire is a little highter and tilted inward a little at the bottom  It's just right for my single bar WDH (weight distributing hitch) that may be a littke longer but might solve your problem.

And the stock size spare still allows the rear glass to open :SOMBRERO:

I also love to fish. I flipped the spare tire mount upside down to gain a little more room above the draw bar. Also I got a longer draw bar from http://www.etrailer.com. With the CRD I hardly notice the trailer is there.

I tried the Harbor freight on 436, it's way closer to me, I will check out the websites for a longer rig, and I was aready leery of an extension. I think my brother would build one for me beore I did that. And yes I hope you see me in the haulover lagoon area, thats the point :)

I haven't been out there in years, decided enough was enough so I sold the Honda accord and got the Jeep and the boat. Gotta love the midlife crisis.

Car for Jeep and a boat? Sounds like a good trade!

I had to put a little cash in. I do have less than 18k in the boat and Jeep though :)

Most folks seem to have one car that costs more than that!

With you dude. Check out: http://www.shareaproject.com/pages/proj ... 79,00.html

That is the boat my son and I built a few years back. It still finds the skinny water of the Mosquito Lagoon and can cruise 30 mph with the two of us in only 6" of water (once on the plane). All day on six gals of 50:1.

We just got back from a trip on the lower Santa Fe River. The water was low but we still still worked our way to Ginny Springs starting from the Ichetucknee. We were the only boat to navigate both shoal areas.

Last time we were at Haulover, we went to the Indian River side, found a large school of minnows and got in trout that almost qualified as gator. No reds though.

Your boat looks perfect for the area.

Good idea, hooking the boat up is a pain in the bum, will try this.

Flipped the spare over, worked like a charm! Much nicer to be able to bring the spare tire :)

Took the boat out and put in at Parrish Park, went north near the train bridge and did some fishing. Almost caught a trout, but it spit the hook. Must have been a really smart fish!

And that is a seriously sweet home built boat. Seems like we may need to have a CRD fishing tournament over in the Galoon!

I agree on the tourney! Maybe there are other CRD'ers out there that would like to fish the Mosquito Lagoon near Titusville. Ha Ha! I wish I had buck for every thrown hook!

My brother and I are putting in at Haulover Sunday afternoon and going to be doing some night fishing over on the Indian River side, I will post up some pics if we catch anything noteworthy!
