So I have been smelling diesel for a few weeks. I finally noticed it dripping in the snow and narrowed it down to the rear, So i started it to move it around in the driveway, walked away and came back and saw it dropping off of the rear diff cover. And i found this. After i got it up on jack stands all i did was reach up and look at it and the darn thing snapped off where the two lines join together. Any one have and repair ideas? I'm going to measure and see if i can some up with somehting to cut and slide a splice over it as i'm pretty sure its the return line.

Those can be annoyingly problematic. I replaced the whole assembly from the steel lines to the sending unit connection at the top of the tank with 3/8" silicone fuel line. No problems since and no leaks even with the in-tank lift pump.

If you do as Flash has suggested, which is very good advice, make sure the fuel hose you use is diesel rated hose!
Not all fuel line hose is rated for diesel fuel!

Silicone fuel hose is not only diesel rated, it's also good for bio diesel, and high evaporation fuels.

There is significant difference between gas and diesel rated rubber fuel hose!
Basic rubber gas rated fuel line can deteriorate internally over time when used with diesel fuel.

High Silicone content hose like Gordon shows is a good choice!

Choose carefully...

If you have a NAPA store available, talk to them, they should be able to supply you with the correct diesel rated hose....
If not, Google is your friend! :google:

Google is a good place to get it delivered to your door.

I wanted mine right away so I bought it at a Pilot truck stop shop. Nine bucks a foot.

I'm curious....Does that hose have a SAE rating on it? I usually buy 30R9 hose. I have paid more than $9/foot for 3/8" 30R9 when buying short lengths.
