Post subject:  Oil on Turbo

Looking today and noticed oil staining on the housing of the turbo. Looking down at the aluminum housing at the front of the turbo (closest to front of vehicle), you can see an oil stain. See picture. Every thing is running well, any reason to worry?

Really hard to tell from your pics.
Make sure you turbo in-out hoses are clamped on tight and clean that spot off really good.
Then wait to see if the spot returns.

did you check your air intake hose for cracks? if you still have your ccv hooked up it could be the oil from that finally ate through your air intake hose and cracked it and now the oil is getting on your turbo.

I can't see the "weeping" on the hoses but there is a good coating of oil on stuff below the turbocharger. I went ahead and ordered a set of hoses as I am sure these are stock and probably should change them. When I get them, I will pull the air filter housing, move the coolant reservoir and see if I can see what is causing the leak. I saw while searching that some time back someone reported the same thing on the turbo and it was their hose starting to weep. Lets keep em crossed!

I did change the serpentine belt today. That was a pretty easy job up until the last pully.

yeah my air intake rotted right at the turbo on the under side though so you couldnt see it, i didnt know til the entire hose broke off and the turbo sounded different so i checked it out and sure enough it was from all the oil from the ccv puck broke down the inside of the air intake hose.
