I desided to buy the "gold" warranty after I had owned mine for a month and was reading here that some owners found out the hard way that the EGR related valves were not covered and only one plan, the gold one, did. EGR valves failed early and often untill the FCV got metal gears and new ECM firmware. The gold one claims "over over 5000 parts". If you have a choice get the best one so when you have a problem they won't find the "fine print".
Since your just buying it I must warn you that most people that get diesel powered vehicles for the long run. But some buyers may consider 71k a normal trade in time or it could have been a 5 year lease return. So at 71 yours just might have an "issue" the original owner was tired of fighting. That is not all bad because with the experience here most all problems have been identified and a cure found. Remember in 29K miles your going to need the timing belt replaced

Extended warrranties don't cover maintenance items and that includes timing belts if your thinking it does.
Replacing my steering rack this week the warranty only covered adjusting the toe part of the alignment meaning I paid to get the caster and camber adjusted.
