Hi all,
I'm installing my new racor fuel filter today.i got all the wiring done and turned the accessory power on. After a few seconds, I smelled electrical burning! I looked down and it was coming from the temp sensor connection. Now, this is the Omega sensor. I cut and spliced it in ( red to red, black to black ).

This is the same part number thats listed on the racor how to. Did I miss something?

Ill have to use the, original puck until I can get this figured out.

Thanks,

Is there a chance you hooked up the heater wiring to the fuel temp sensor?
Pull the plug and check the voltage to ground, if you have 12 volts on one connection instead of ~5volts, it may be your problem.
Just a thought,

Yup, that was it

Now, on an unrelated note, I'm getting 'Low Fuel Temp Sensor Voltage'. Could I have damaged the sensor with this mess? My EGR light is on.

thx

Sounds like it, once you smoke a thermistor, it is smoked.

Sux,

Thanks for the help. I've ordered a replacement sensor.

I got a replacement Omega Temp Sensor today. Can anyone tell me how to correctly wire it to the factory plug so I don't accidentally fry it? (:

Thanks,
