I was talking to Keith from GDE prior to my TC swap to a Suncoast.........I have the Transgo kit and plan on installing it too......Did the Transmission controller "learn" the changes away after time? I just want to know so I don't waste time/money on the install HJ

The only thing the TCM with any flash or version will learn around is the resistor supplied in the Transgo kit. SunCoast recommends you don't waste your time installing the resistor. If you want the extra firm shift some of the time, rig up a switch with the resistor in it so you can turn it on or off. That way the trans will shift extra firm when you want it and normal firm the rest of the time. Expect the TCM (any flash or version) to take at least 500 miles to learn the SunCoast/Transgo upgrade after you put it in.
If you upgrade your ECM flash after the SunCoast/Transgo upgrade, it will improve with driving.

When I went from the stock ECM tune to the InMotion Stage 2 tune, my SunCoast/Transgo started shifting better and improved over time.
When I started on my Data Mining with my Expirimental TCM, I started out with the stock tune stock converter, the TCM learned to shift to that configuration. I put in the SunCoast/Traqnsgo and it relearned to that configuration. When I had my ECM flashed to the InMotion Stage 2, the TCM relearned and even became more intelligent and I am the most pleased with the SunCoast/Transgo/Inmotion Stage 2 configuration, a true pleasure to drive.
Since you are a GDE guy, you may be happier with a stronger tune than with an Eco tune with the SunCoast/Transgo upgrade. What ever TCM flash you pick, I suspect you will be more pleased with the stronger ECM tune for the SunCoast/Transgo upgrade. I feel this is all because Ron Wolverton did his development work with a strong tune on the CRD he used, it was NOT stock, if you catch my drift.

My Transco kit was to replace weak factory parts, the resistor was the only shift modifying item, which I threw away.
Were there other kits available?

Is there more than one Transgo kit for the CRD? Someone mentioned a fix for the leaking front transmission pump? Is that included with the kit or is that another kit?
I'm going to have to purchase a Transgo kit for my Libby, just want to make sure I get the right one if there is more than one.

PS I guess the resistor mod to increase line pressure doesn't work because the TCM will eventually lower the pressure over time??

I found the GDE "full torque" eco tune with a decent tc is simply fantastic, even with the crappy f37 tcm.
For me the majority of the tcm's learning curve took place within 100 miles. This was my experience mostly after my new front pump and tc were installed, but to a lesser extent again when I updated to the full torque tune and again to pre f37 tune I now have.
But maybe not with your tcm from a totally different power train.

It's constantly learning every time it's driven :ROTFL:
