First off, I want to thank the forum contributors for sharing their wisdom and experience. I picked up a 2006 CRD last Tuesday, and following the posted advice I replaced the air filter, fuel fileter, oil filter and oil. I also did the MAP clean, the ORM and the EHM. The only question I have is with respect to the EHM (Elephant Hose Modification): when you disconnect the hose from the CCV (Crank Case Vent) and replace it with the elephant hose, you're left with an open connection to the intercooler. What do you recommend? Do you plug it? That's what I did. Or do you install some kind of air fliter on it? I haven't seen any information on this; and that's probably because the "fix" is probably quite obvious to the rest of you. Very happy with my CRD, and eager to find out whether pluggin the hole in the connection to the intercooler was the right thing to do when adding my EHM, Castnblast |

My plug is the cork from a 2007 Fess Parker Syrah. Went great with the steak. |

Screw top is still better than the box wine. I'm not sure that stuff even HAS a specific vintage. I'm a rum or tequila man myself. I plugged mine with one of those new-style rubberized corks from bottle of something decent my folks had. Works very well. |

yeah stay away from that screw top and box stuff There are are many good wines to be had for under $10 a bottle. Try Austrialian wines, Black swan Shraz is a nice red that don't break the bank, goes good with grilled meats too. Yellow Tail isn't bad either. |

Fess Parker actually has a great screw-top wine for $10--it's called "Frontier Red". Really good stuff... |

I had an old locking lug nut that was round and smooth. It was a tight fit in the hose, and I even put a clamp on it. I prefer scotch, I always put the corks back in the bottle where they belong. I have a bottle in my freezer that's older then me, I probably won't ever drink it all, it's way to good for me

Lowes or Home Depot all have a nice selection of rubber corks in there fastern drawers. But if you feel the need to a bottle or 2 to get a cork and a back up have fun. I know i always have fun till the next mouring when i feel like .

Had to buy a plug. All the corks are in the home made cider. And by the time you are finished with a bottle, you either forget you need to save the cork or you really don't care. |
