This last weekend went in for some rust prevention.

Went under jeep and wire brushed any signs of rust and treated with rust oleum rust preventer liquid.
It goes on white and turns black when rust conversion is done, any none rusted area turns clear.
Think it leads it somehow according to the lead warnings.
Then spray painted it all rust oleum black.
Cat and muffler was showing signs of rust even on the pipe from exhasut manifod, so wire brushed it and
coated with 2500 degree header pipe black paint.

Then the bottom inside of doors had a bit of rust signs so brushed it good , treated with rust preventor
and sprayed with matching silver enamal paint.

Next weekend fun in the northwoods :JEEPIN: , Layback

I cleaned the door jambs and weather stripping with baby wipes. It leaves the rubber smooth as a babies behind. I then washed the entire truck including wheel wells and cleaned the rims with an old toilet brush. Its OK I rinsed it real good first. I then drove the Jeep to my shop and watched the coolant slowly leak at the hose that connects the egr cooler. Then I came inside to order the egr delete and learn how to get rid of the eye cooler.

I installed the elbow kit from Sasquatch and got rid of the FCV. I actually think it had more throttle response. It is a good kit. I like some of the attention to detail like the bolt for the vacuum hold down is 13 mm just like the bolt that goes to the bracket that the other end is attached to. On a down side he told me how proud he was that it was made in America and then he sent me a made in china hose to connect his parts. It was still in the package and said made in china.

Actually took me about 3-4 hours. The gasket on my intake was really hard to get off and I could not see what I was doing. Also mine runs on WVO and I had to move the battery tray and veg filter and fuel line, I had extra coolant hoses in the way. I should have worked on taking the EGR cooler off but it was already taking to long.

Ugh. doo doo keeps breaking!

Sunday I finally located the mystery slow coolant leaks I have been dealing with. Replaced two clamps on hoses attached to the thermostat.
Finally replaced the front driveshaft CV joint.
And did an oil change.

Then...

The plastic outlet on the CCV broke off and now both driver side window regulators are broken.

I did this to my Jeep last week, insurance company called it a Total Loss, but I have bought it back and will fix it up and drive it again. Now just waiting for the check in the mail to order parts. No one was injured in the accident and my jeep is still "drivable".

Did a timing belt change at 76k miles, figured it was 10 years old and I needed the peice of mind knowing it wasn't going to snap. Only took 4 hours. Also left the the mechanical fan and shroud off the engine, as well as the alternator bracket for the plastic engine cover nub, as I don't use the cover.

What's a CDR puck? Closed Crankcase Ventilation CCV is a concept, not a physical item - most Diesels use a Crankcase Depression Regulator CDR as the major item in their CCV system - the CDR unit on the KJ 2.8L Diesel engine, which round black cover resembles a hockey puck, has been called 'the puck' - also known in the KJ Field Service Manual as oil-slinger or crankcase pressure valve - if yours is broken and disabled, eBay is a good source for replacement - two are currently listed from DCJ dealerships for less than 40bucks

Hi , first time posting.
I own a 2006 Liberty CRD.
I have the GDE econofix .
Yesterday I installed the elbow mod from Sasquatch engineering...
First I love the Green diesel programming, I am getting better mileage and more power at a slight cost (a little more growl) this is not a big deal.
The elbow mod took me between 5-6 hours to install, this included me removing the glow plugs, testing them ( I had a bad one) and reinstalling them.
The mod is great, there are a few things to be aware of, I removed the fuel filter assy completely which was better than hanging it to the side.(taped plastic over hoses to prevent contamination)
Also the flow control valve, those screws (Allen heads) I would tap the allen key in hard before attempting to remove them as the head can strip and then there is trouble.
It went well and I took it for a run and it worked great , then I noticed a whooshing sound, the silicone/ rubber adaptor had slipped it's clamp.
I reinstalled it, I think the elbow would be better if it had expanded terminations so the clamps/hoses do not slip off.
Otherwise the mod is great and now I don't have to take it in for glow plugs as they are easy to replace.
Sasquatch always answered my questions promptly (thanks Seth) and I look forward to the air intake heater mod as I live in Canada.
Is this mod for everybody to tackle? possibly not.
You need quite a few tools (wobble extensions, 1/4 drive deep sockets etc etc).
My background:
Was an auto mechanic in europe since 78, (City & Guilds) also a millwright/industrial electrician
Please contact me for more info.
