Has anyone ever thought of modifying the CP3 on the 2.8's? I was just thinking about this the other day. The pump is the same as what's on the Dodge's and Dirtymax's, so why not use the kits available to modify our CP3's for more fuel flow? Here is a kit like I am talking about http://wickeddiesels.com/id43.html About to do this to a friend's 6.7 Cummins. Anyone have any thoughts? I know that the general person on this board does not seek out more power, but there are a few of us on here. Later, Tommy |

Is the bottleneck in our motors the amount of fuel the pump can push?? I am new to the CRD and still learnin'. It would be interesting to see what most people on this board think is the limiting factor. (Besides the transmission |

Not that I've heard, you may be paving the way. Let us know how it works. |

Bosch lists the CP3 unit simply as; Common rail high pressure pump. 3 refers to the 3 radial pistons. We have the 2nd genetation of this pump which is intended to supply solenoid driven injectors. The 3rd generation is the CP3+ it is used in newer engines such as the VM Motori Panther and pushes higher injection pressures to piezo injectors. There is no need for modification to the IP used in our CRDs seeing as how the CP3 pump and injectors which we have can supply WAY more fuel than this little 2.8L engine can handle. |

[quote="Roostre"]Is the bottleneck in our motors the amount of fuel the pump can push?? [quote] What bottleneck Go to this link and look at the chart and compare the "stock per f-37" figures then compare them to the "stock post F37" numbers Remember NO US CRDS CAME STOCK WITH F37 tune. F37 came out after 06 production was halted http://www.greendieselengineering.com/f ... st/20.page You might want to look at the Echo tune figures but remember the numbers listed are for the "full torque" flavor
