I think I've found the limit to what the CRDs HVAC system can handle.

This morning, air temp. is 3°F. Wind Chill temp. is around 0°F. I have a new thermostat, temp. guage runs at about half-way mark. Viscous heater relay is plugged in. HVAC temp. dial is turned all the way to the "red" as far as it'll go.

Despite all this, the cabin never gets hot. It gets somewhat warm...warm enough to be OK...but it never really gets room temperature. This is the first time I've experienced this in the CRD...I think I've found it's limit.

I've run mine in -15F and it will blow hot and get the cabin toasty at that temperature as long as it's moving. If I stopped (engine drop back to idel) the temp gauge would fall down below one quarter and the cabin heat would blow slightly warm at best.

I'll buy a power inverter and run a space heater in the passenger seat before I ever stick that thing on my KJ. LOL.

I believe GDE turns off the Viscous heater at a lower engine temperature then stock for better mileage :D

I notice a huge difference then last winter, sure the GDE tune has something to do with it.

Wind chill has nothing to do with this case.

The cold weather must be affecting my sense of humor. I just can't stop laughing at it.

Actually, the large round headlights of the of the Kj might look like eyes with that stache.
