It looks like it is purely a case of bad timing and luck... The button is for the remote start and has nothing to do with my problem,
We found a P0299 code, "Boost Pressure sensor positive deviation". Anyone else had this issue and what fixed it???

I pulled the air box out and it's hose to the turbo to gain access to to the hose clamp to remove the hose to the intercooler. Other than being fully coated with black oil, the hose was fully intact. I cleaned the hose and assembled everything back up. I pulled the the other hose off the intercooler to the intake manifold and found it also had the coating of oil and a split in the bottom, about 3" from the intake manifold... I am assuming that in my problem. I now need to find and order a couple new hoses. Not replacing one without the other... Any thought on the oil residue and the hose failing and where to purchase a new set of hoses???

See the 4th item in Sam's Noob guide for 2 options on replacing those hoses. I favor Samco but the new OEM version is supposed to be ok.

Provent (or similar) or EHM to correct the oil in the intake track. Or you can fix the hose, leave stock CCV configuration and replace hoses as they fail.

ps if your airbox to turbo hose is getting distorted looking or gummy where it connects to the turbo it is probably going to fail in short order.

I would replace them both now. You can keep the old one and clean it up as a spare for emergency use.

I have steel tubing now, but it makes it a PITA to work on anything as it does not bend out of the way. It also resonates at idle RPM's. I don't think it will get mushy and crack, however. :D

I replace mine at 55K. Noticed it had crapped out when I replaced thermostat. It was oil rotted and barely connected. Ripped it out with my hands. FYI, it's a $50 piece of hose. Couldn't find an aftermarket piece similar to Samco type hoses so I imagine it will rot away again. However I did do EHM so that should slow the process down.

If you did an EHM, then the replacement airbox hose should last the life of the CRD - There isn't another source of oil to contaminate that hose OTHER than the CCV. Remove that, and you are good. Your intake should remain clean and dry from then on.

I'm still dubious about a Provent getting rid of 100% of the oil mist, but on my own CRD, the oil doesn't bother me from the EHM. Lately for the first time, I am starting to smell the vapors however, so I will probably be re-routing that hose to someplace else soon.
