looking for some info. just picked up a parts truck. bonus, has a tune, green diesel, and a scan tool. question can this be converted over to my running truck. can you move the ecm. or can I pull the tune out with the scan tool and load into my running ecm?
im sure the experts here can advise.
will also have a parts truck to part out if anyone is looking for items.

05 and 06 ECMs are not interchangeable.
If both your CRDs are 06, then they can be swapped. But the VIN in the ECM and the security codes in the key and SKIM module have to be programmed together for the vehicle.

The GDE tunes are restricted to only the VIN number they were originally purchased for. GDE tunes cannot be loaded to another vehicle with a different VIN number without going through them which I do not think is possible anymore.
The Free DIY tunes on the LOST DIY Tunes first page can be loaded to any vehicle provided it has the same version number software which is identified using a MPPS cable and the MPPS software.

There may be a way to put your working jeep VIN number into the ecm with the tune but the tune must be in it first because the GDE tool will only work with VIN it was bought for. I canot do it but you can pm me for some info that might be helpful.
