I will soon be removing the driver's side back seat and lifting up the carpet and padding in search for the wire harness and "pin set" so that I can wire in power to my Kennedy lift pump.

Before I begin, I want to make sure that I have all the electrical parts that I need. In that regard, my question is as follows: would someone please explain to me what parts are needed and how I go about "adding one pin to the right side" of the pin set for power to the lift pump? The quotes are from a comment left by dgeist on Jan. 19, 2009, in which he notes that "the wire harness is already pinned out for your lead under the carpet."

Apparently, it is not necessary to splice into the wire harness for power because the harness is already "pinned out" for power to a lift pump in the Liberty CRDs. I'm pretty sure that I can find the "pin set", but what do I need and how do I go about attaching a naked wire to the "pin set" in the CRD? I have the wires that I need; and I know how to splice. I just don't know whether I'm going to need something else when it comes to connecting to the "pin set".

I'm very grateful for all of the detailed explanations on how to install the lift pump, and they have helped immensely, but I can't seem to find any information on this point. Any guidance would be appreciated.

This looks like what you're after.

EDIT: I just spliced the wire when I installed a FACET pump. Seemed a lot easier!

Don't mess with pins and such things...sure its neater but who is going to check under the carpeting under the rear seats to see it?

I too spliced my wirng, soldered the fuel line wires and used generous amounts of heat shrink tape to seal the deal.
