Hello all,

Here is my dilemma. I installed the Kennedy lift pump about a month ago and and worked fine for a few weeks but then up and stopped working. Did some digging and found the 10A fuel prime fuse to be blown under the hood. The problem is everytime I replace it it just blows the fuse as soon as I turn the key to on and the pump will not run. Anyone experience this problem? Does the pump call for a larger fuse? Is there a factory relay on the fuel pump wire(blue w/orange tracer)?

I double checked all the wiring and the ground connection and it all checked out. I took it to the dealer for a routine timing belt change and had the technician look at it and he was also unable to track down the problem....???

All thoughts much appreciated.

thanks.

I've got a kennedy lift pump and never had an issue with stock fuse. I suggest you check your wiring and look for a shorted wire. Good luck.

The pump itself could be shorted.

This is an expensive Kennedy lift pump, that doesn't fail.

Anything can fail regardless of what it costs :juggle:

To the original poster. Yes there's a relay in the fuse box by the battery :JEEPIN:

Disconnect the positive + wire from the pump and install a new fuse. If the fuse don't blow then it's the pump, if it does blow it's the wiring.
