going to unplug (i think called orm) to disable egr. Should I pull hose going into the ccv also ??

They do slightly different things. One stops soot from getting to the intake, the other stops oil. You should be fine just doing the ORM until you decide how to keep the oil out of the intake (per the noob guide, as mentioned). It WILL make a difference on its own.
