O-k, Had a little vibration in the front.,saw grease and knew my cv was bad.

I called around and found one at Advance auto parts for $79.00  out the door no core charge.

It was a new unit , not rebuilt

Should have known :furious: lasted about 75 miles before it started to vibrate

Took it back for refund, now stealership wants 410.00 for one....Where can I find the right one I can afford.

Did the one from Advanced appear to be correct and fit OK? if so I would try another one from them. You could have just gotten a bad one.

I just looked and locally they are listed at $69.99 :ALONE:

It seemed to fit ok ,but it seems there might be a difference between the gasser`s and the CRD

Is it our lift kits that are causing this, or is it just the nature of the KJ CVs? I ask because I'm about to replace my passenger side one + intermeidate shaft in hopes of stopping a vibration, but if the OEM reman parts are going to end up doing the same thing it might not be worth it.

Go to a town that has a NAPA.

I do have a 2 1/2 inch lift ,but I think it was mabe a hole in the cover that let in mud/water to cause it to fail.

FYI - if you check the 4x4 section occasionally tjkj has posted about some of the 'new' CV shafts actually being shorter than stock - he put some side by side
That's where the NAPA Remaned - recommendation comes from - they use stock and repair them - a lot of the 'new' types are made in China and don't fit right - so they die quickly - even thought they have a warranty and you can keep replacing them.

Update.......Napa worked good till about 400 miles ,then this horrendous :furious: sound comes frome the front.

Was it a bearing,,,No , it`s that wonderfull cv axle

And this was three AM in a podunk town.

80 miles later at home, I am dismantleing and find it has shredded the splines on the inner axle

You need to replace the intermediate shaft.
