My jeeps been sitting at a dealership since dec 15th waiting for parts. I live in nj and we've had a harsh, cold winter. I dropped the vehicle off with as close to a full tank as possible. Besides wondering if the battery is dead, does anyone think I need any fuel additive when I pick her up?

Unlike Gasoline, Diesel fuel takes a lot longer to go stale. There are products to keep bacteria from growing in the fuel, but even with my 40 years of Diesel experience, I have only heard and read about it.
Power Service and Stanadine both make good products that add lubricity, boost cetaine, and help prevent gelling up.
Getting your CRD back is a more pressing issue.

Thanks. That's what I was wondering but didn't know for certain as I've never let the CRD sit for so long undriven.

Just curious; what parts are they waiting for, that has taken so long?

I find this "parts" thing so fascinating.
Just had a dealer do a few things to my CRD, here in Los Angeles, over the past few months, including CAC hoses and a timing belt/water pump. The parts were here overnight... and they'd never seen a CRD before. There really is no rhyme or reason to it, is there?

Good luck.

Three months to get power steering rack for mine :juggle: But it only had a slow leak so they called me when it came in.

I know you said "besides the battery", but it might be good to call the shop and ask them to put it on a trickle charge for a day or two if you have a scheduled pick-up date.

Did you ever check to see if http://www.moparonlineparts.com/ has the switch you are looking for? Some times you need to get proactive and go over their heads.

My timing belt parts order from MoparOnlinePars is being held up at this time because they are waiting on a multifunction light switch which I ordered at the same time.

Yeah, when I was fighting to get this since early December of 2010, they told me there were 67 that are on back order waiting to be shipped to other dealerships.
Would anyone happen to know if you order a new transmission that mopar parts america has, does it come with the upgraded torque converter?
