i've noticed when going over bumps or dips, i can hear an interesting noise from the front end of the jeep. don't hear it in the back end and wonder if the shocks are making the noise?

thoughts?

It could possibly be the shocks, but it may also be your front sway bar making the noise. Mine was a bit noisy going over speed bumps or anything that caused the front end to really have to travel. I sprayed some wd-40 on all the rubber mounts and it stopped it for a while. I believe the noise is caused from road salt (not sure if you have this) getting between the sway bar and the rubber mount and the result is a squeaky front end. The WD-40 only lasted about two weeks so I just bought a can of some silicon lubricant to try out and see if it will last longer. I only paid a couple bucks for the lubricant so if your roads get salted it may be worth a try. Good luck

it's not really a squeak, more of a swoosh sound...can the swear bar do this?

Antisway bar bushings need a little silicone, this only happens when it's cold out.

Do a search and you'll see.

well, i bought some white lighting??? spray on silicone. said it was good for metal and non metal parts. while i was spraying the bushings, i thought what the heck i'll spray the other parts and make them look clean.

wow, does my garage stink. i took it for a drive and later, it smelled as though i was leaking diesel...guess petroleum base stuff can do that.
